I have 4 full-time VA’s and would be happy to have them do some tasks for anyone here who needs something done and doesn’t want to commit to hiring someone. The prices would be fair, and I’ll be supervising the jobs.

Let’s see here Tim.
for the local schema, go to schema.org and look up local business. We implement it in the footer so it goes on to all pages. As much as you can, including hours, description, location, phone, category, etc.
For the data highlighter, verify with webmaster tools and look up data highlighter. Same thing, as much info as…[Read more]

Yeah, we’ve been focusing exclusive on local clients for about 2 years now and have it down to a pretty predictable process.
We optimize the homepage for the most profitable keywords.
Optimize the rest of the site with schema and a map embed.
Webmaster tools with data highlights.
Build out pages for secondary, long tail k…[Read more]

There are a lot of things you can do with it. I’m planning on picking specific niches an cities and blanketing those terms and then renting the sites out to local businesses.

Great article. I agree with the article. I believe that 1 in 3 businesses that have paid for SEO have been ripped off by a person who simply didn’t know what they were doing.
To avoid this, I work in real testimonials and give references in to other local businesses so that they can call other clients directly.
Also, speaking in as sim…[Read more]

Interesting approach Jerry. I like the idea of offering the list of pg1 keywords as an optin. Talk about a way to grab qualified leads!

Justin Kunst posted in the topic Head Of Google’s Web Spam Team Matt Cutts Extends Leave in the forum News 10 years ago
I would hope that he stays on. There’s an advantage to fighting against the same person as they become predictable. If someone else becomes head of the spam team, it could mean a new direction that may prove additionally troublesome or unpredictable. Not that Matt Cutts hasn’t been troublesome for SEOs as is.

I thought I heard Andrew and Jake mention subdomains really don’t stick around or rank well over time.
Did I hear this correctly?
Your thoughts?
Does anyone build subdomains on their Shaker sites?
Thanks

@frankschwarz mentioned something great yesterday on the webinar, which was to use magazines to find a niche. So, I looked up Trade Magazines and find this fantastic list:

I use a plugin called “Pretty Link” to forward the links in lieu of Bit.ly. I can pull up the clicks by date… and it adds an extra level of protection so I don’t spam my client’s sites with links. I choose “temporary” and then “no follow”.
