Great article. I agree with the article. I believe that 1 in 3 businesses that have paid for SEO have been ripped off by a person who simply didn’t know what they were doing.

I would hope that he stays on. There’s an advantage to fighting against the same person as they become predictable. If someone else becomes head of the spam team, it could mean a new direction that may prove additionally troublesome or unpredictable. Not that Matt Cutts hasn’t been troublesome for SEOs as is.

@justinkunst , I’d love to see more training on scalable business models for client SEO. One aspect has already been covered – automation. However, that’s only one part of the scalable model. I’d love to see good models for packaging/systemizing pricing as well.
