Matt Diggity posted in the topic What are the best automated content tools/plugins for websites? in the forum SEO 10 years ago
The most I’ll do is a RSS sidebar plug in. It’s a natural thing that real websites place on their pages and does the trick of keeping the content fresh.
The other stuff, especially the spin software, makes me too nervous when it comes to duplicated content.

Unfortunately, this is the landscape we need to work in.
But fortunately, if you can deliver results consistently, this can work to our advantage.
When approaching a new client, market yourself as a premium no b.s. provider. And charge nothing for the first month. It shows that you’re confident that you’ll get results and you’re dif…[Read more]

Great points Matt!
Thats how I ‘felt’ about all of it. In the least, I couldn’t see them dropping juice – maybe just weakening.
Most of my anchor text diversity comes from FCS, but a good point nonetheless. They could be used for anchor text diversity if they dropped all their juice anyway.
Besides, half of this probably just to s… -

About orphaned PBN’s… I recently read, on the contrary that Google gives more value to older links. Which makes complete sense. I haven’t heard about inactive pages losing link just transferral power before, but I suppose it could be true.
As you said, testing would be the only way to figure out if your sites were still good. But I can sa…[Read more]

Matt Diggity posted in the topic Head Of Google’s Web Spam Team Matt Cutts Extends Leave in the forum News 10 years ago
I’ll have to agree, the web spam team has indeed been doing a good job without him being there. PBN De-indexing + Penguin 3.0 killed a lot of sites and scared the shit out of a lot of people. The top tier SEO’s will continue to stay out of reach of these updates. But, in all, the webs spam team has done a good job.

Running a link rental service, I have access to tons of testcases. About 98% of the people that had penalizations had the same two things in common:
They sent software generated links directly to their money site. Even those that used custom scraped lists were hit. We’re still trying to work out if it was the spun content that caused th…[Read more]

Putting the feelers out there: How many people would be interested in cheaper, lower-power PBN sites to use for pillowing?
Since Penguin 3.0, we’ve seen that the biggest cause of people getting hit was from sending poor quality links from software or weak web 2.0s. In most cases, people send links from these types of sites for anchor text…[Read more]

I don’t usually rent links either. I have heard the feedback from some of the members and spoke to Matt about the network that he has. I would recommend it to those that are not interested in creating their own. Matt does it nicely with niched networks, which as we all know, is really the key here.

Penguin 3.0 just hit and it looks like GSA became really dangerous. How did it go with your site that you were pillowing directly with GSA? Was it affected by Penguin 3.0?
All of my sites that I use FCS/GSA for pillowing survived Penguin 3.0. Actually they went up in rank because some competitors fell out of the way. But I’m us…[Read more]

Like Ben, I’m still using it as well (a little bit). It’s a great way to create some nice pillow link sources for free (minus the tool fees). The only issue is that it takes a lot of work and time to get these things pumped out. Setting up the Web 2.0s, manually customizing the first tier, dripping the 2-4th tiers, etc. Also, I can’t be bot…[Read more]
