“What are the chances of a manual review?”
(1*number of sites you own) out of 644,275,754 / Number of Google employees working on manual spam tracking. (dec 2012)
In laments terms stuff all, unless you’re doing silly stuff or making it obvious to your competitors.

Andrew, cool video, thanks for taking the time to do that.
But I am still confused. For a state-wide site, is it $197 one time or $197 monthly? In reading elsewhere in the forum this morning, it appears Jake had mentioned that SERPlandlord was going to necessarily be on a back burner for awhile while some of the S… -

I don’t really get it as I haven’t had time to experiment. Been sitting on my hands for a few days.
But watching the latest Google hangout when they showed off the double agent you guys enabled the site wide redirection. Viewing the pages on the test site redirected to semeasy.com and it was def a redirection because the URL changed in…[Read more]

Thanks Ann, also to specify I meant FREE, not paid for. There’s thousands of paid for directories. But finding the free ones is kinda tough. My scrapebox skills fail me there.

Hi,
I’m from sunny Queensland. Anyone in Aus have a local directory citation list? Seems almost impossible to get decent citations in this part of the world.

Mark Upshaw posted in the topic Do/would you ever do free SEO work? in the forum General 10 years, 4 months ago
If you won’t do pro bono work for your family, then you shouldn’t do it for a stranger.
There must be a leverage point so that they know that they are receiving value. Because everyone knows that those that work for free are desperate.
But fortunately, you have the answer right here if you have access to the the software. Sim…[Read more]

I am not Andrew, but more like the George Foreman grill. On the physical product side you might want to consider those specific products that are not readily available at Walmart, Target, Nordstrom or whatever chains operate in the selected area. For example, an obsidian scrying mirror, model xyz Gerber toddler chair, etc. (These examples may be…[Read more]

Hey,
Yeah posted this not long back myself (see here: http://semeasy.com/forum/seo-1/the-30-day-google-sandbox/) , I too noticed this was a problem. I did do a bit of testing but yet to come to a conclusion. According to a few experts building links slowly from your PBN seems to be the key here. Aged domains is also another option.
One…[Read more]

Mark20 posted in the topic Todays SEO question in the forum SEO 10 years, 4 months ago
Hi BigHappy!
Good question! H1 title tags really depend on your theme and how you set it up. I would say the majority of the themes I have seen have the H1 set as the page/post title.
When setting up my titles for a site I look at the keyword density of my competition and how theirs is structured, I don’t see the point in re-creating the…[Read more]

Mark20 posted in the topic Domain Authority with Moz in the forum SEO 10 years, 4 months ago
When it comes to moz stats its a combination you need to look at. The higher the DA or PA of a domain the chances are the better the domain, however this isn’t always the case as DA and PA are easily manipulated.
MozRank however is slightly better as the general idea is the MozRank should be the same or higher than its PR for it to keep its PR…[Read more]

Mark20 posted in the topic The 30 Day Google Sandbox in the forum SEO 10 years, 4 months ago
So the question is how do you get around this problem. Google must have something in place to bring relevant pages to the top quickly. If there is breaking news it must be able to identify this and rank accordingly.
I think a bit of testing is required to avoid this maybe something along the lines of using 301 from aged domains that have aged…[Read more]

After creating a few new sites and doing some testing with brand new, aged and dropped domains. Its clear to me that new site/pages no matter how many links you throw at the site are taking around 2-4 weeks to show up on the first page.
I wonder after the latest payday loan update that google have brought back the sandbox to prevent SEO…[Read more]

Mark20 posted in the topic Options with no PBN in the forum SEO 10 years, 4 months ago
When it comes to PBN’s everyone has their own take on them. Don’t do this, don’t do that, do this, do that.
A PBN is great for ranking a long term site, if your aim is to build an authority site or you have a client site that has a real business then it pays to build up a high quality network.
If however you just want to make some fast…[Read more]

Mark20 posted in the topic Google Leveling the playing field again? BIG change! in the forum SEO 10 years, 5 months ago
Rich Snippets is something worth considering for sure! I know Tesco are working hard adding scheme markups to their entire site, which makes me wonder why they would do that unless their was a benefit for doing so.
Attention grabbing titles and descriptions along with as much rich snippets you can show should help increase the CTR.
I agree…[Read more]

My image was removed from the SERPS a while ago even though it was stable for sometime. It was good to hear Google has taken the images away even though I am sure the reason it was done was to increase ad revenue.
I am also expecting Penguin to rear its head again soon so I expect things to be interesting over the next few months.
