    Thanks for starting it Bryan

I have 54,100 indeed at the moment. I did national.

    A lot of page 1s, a heck of a lot of #1s.

Haven’t attempted to lease out yet. Its in a niche I’m in already so I put my own pages up.

I am planning on contacting a few businesses to see if I can lease out pages/states/sections so that I can cover my…[Read more]

You know..that picture..made me think of Plinko!

There should be a silo plugin named plinko. =)

  • Don’t sweat the details. There is no “one” silo that is correct. There are many silo strategies that work just fine. Try and think about it this way. You’ve got a straight line with an arrow on the end of it. That line is moving through your site. Where do I want that arrow to end up at? The path of that line is the link juice flow. That is the…[Read more]

  • emediaukcom you are correct. A silo built correctly will require far less links. It’s just about seeing how the link juice flows through the site and where it ends up. Proper internal linking will help you control that.

  • Thank you Susannah! Sounds great!

I’m trying to decide on a silo structure right now.

There is SeoZen, there is the silo structure from mass page creator, there is the siloplugin something or other from theme zoom, there is the silo plugin from Page One Plugin…

  • Backlinks are not always backlinks. That being said, 1000 comment backlinks will not perform as well as say 10 backlinks from 10 domains with high domain authority. I’ll choose the 10 backlinks any day. So to the core of your question if backlinks will help, yes, of course they will. If you have good backlinks and you point them to the right…[Read more]

  • Thanks Matt! Good explanation

  • Google just loves huge sites. They do. They really love them when they are neatly organized, structured and easily categorized. Can you do a Geo targeted site for only 25 towns and do well with it? Sure you can. From my experience with say a site that has 25 or less pages, I have always had to do some pin point linking to the site to get it to…[Read more]

  • This is partly a brainstorming post, plus a hope for insight from others here =)

I have a few local clients where I am living right now, which is Costa Rica. I’ve been here a year and pick up a client or two every so often. Could be a lot more but I do not feel comfortable taking on more than I can chew.

I am running into a few issues.…[Read more]

  • I thought I would post my experience that I am having with SLL. I did nationwide which has its pros and its cons in this situation. The con being the cost =) I have learned an expensive lesson. However! Good money spent because it introduced me to Jake and Andrew and everyone here at this forum and I am excited about the future potential. So, at…[Read more]

+1 from me in terms of the situation BryanZ describes. Same thing happened to me, except I didn’t get the free month. Although I doubt it was a technical glitch that they didn’t do anything until the last moment. I’m pretty sure they did that on purpose to try and get the renewal. That might be me just being cynical though.

  • The most important thing is, to take action. Nothing changes if nothing changes.. simple truth. Backlinks to any domain you buy is very important. Go take the time to look at them. Basically, what the hell is being pointed at this domain I am getting ready to purchase? What you really want to look for that give you an awesome domain to use is…[Read more]

  • A little known tip that works very well is to use Google video sitemap ping. You’ll get your sites indexed in a matter of hours on most normal cases. Instead of pinging a regular sitemap to Google, you want to create a “video” sitemap and ping that to them. You don’t really have to have the videos on your site, just a reference to an actual video…[Read more]

  • Yeah, I meant to get back to this thread….

It is just plain stupid how this works!  You simply throw your penalized domain as a 301 to your new domain… Then you send out a press release (but not just any press release!).  The press releases that go on the “Press Release Type” sites only, just don’t work and will actually hurt you…  I sa…[Read more]

  • I like it!  Google seems to have jumped in a time machine and gone back to 2007 in some respects.  They still have the filters in place for back links, but with GOOD onsite optimization you can dominate most low – med comp.

I like to embed a related Youtube video.  They own youtube, so… well just saying :)

Also, outbound links are im…[Read more]
