I did same with Magic Submitter.  I find it cheaper to 3rd party link-building then to pay someone to use it.  Learning curve takes you digging in but the author is pretty helpful.

+1 from me in terms of the situation BryanZ describes. Same thing happened to me, except I didn’t get the free month. Although I doubt it was a technical glitch that they didn’t do anything until the last moment. I’m pretty sure they did that on purpose to try and get the renewal.
