<p>In a test I did over a month or 2 ago, I 301 redirected several domains to individual bit.ly urls, which then linked to a site.</p>
<p>I was not expecting to see the original domains show up in Majestic, however it and the bit.ly urls both showed in the backlinks to the site being linked to by the bit.ly urls.</p>

<p>What I do is have my primary kw which is what the EMD is, and then target that and synonyms of it. The synonyms may or may not include par of the EMD phrase.</p>
